Summer work- Flat plans and rationale.

The Final Mile.

As my media product for A2 I decided on doing a film trailer. After brainstorming ideas about what genre and what story line to base my trailer on picked the idea I know most about and  I enjoy watching the most. I chose the ‘romance’ genre. My film will be called ‘ The Final Mile.’ Films such as ‘The Notebook and ‘The last song’ inspired me to do this. My film is a classic love story with twist. I aim for my film trailer to be based on a two people who fall in love at a running track and one sadly gets cancer. They have a bucket list and on the list is to run a marathon before they die. My target audience for my film would be aimed at people who enjoy watching love stories such as the notebook, dear john and the last song. I would aim my film at people over the age of 12 who could understand the issues in the film such as cancer. The reason I chose this idea for my film as I feel a lot of people could relate and understand the film. I would want people to feel they can enjoy it even though it has a serious side to it.  I chose to title my film ‘The film mile’ as its got an inner meaning. As it links in with the marathon but also meaning  the last stages of his life.

Film Poster.

I want my film poster to show the story by only looking at it. I felt I could do this by using two images. One above the main title which I am having across the middle of the poster and one below. I am aiming for the top image to be the two main characters showing their love and embracing and the other image of them running a marathon looking quite inspirational. I want my main title to be black, dark purple or white with a gold shadow in quite a posh old fashioned font. I think the colour of the main title will depends on the colours in my images when I have chosen them. My poster needs to be eye catching and informative so people who haven’t seen my trailer will want to come view my film. I’m thinking of a quote to position at the top of my poster which will be very catchy, easy to remember and will link in with the film. For the images I want the first one to be a medium close up shot took from the side and for the other a long shot took from behind. I want both these images to be slightly faded meaning the main title will stand out a lot more. I don’t want to add text on the poster which isn’t necessary. I don’t want to draw attention for the title and the main images which are what will tell the story in the poster if you haven’t seen the trailer.  For the extra information and actors names I want this to be in black as this will stand out on the faded bottom image. I think using black will add a professional look to my poster.

Website.

My website will contain all information that you don’t get from my film poster and trailer. It will include things such as :
·         *Cast list
·         *Behind the scenes
·        * Deleted scenes
·         *Added on extras
·         *Photos
·         *Videos
My website will have the same style to it as my poster. I want my main title which appears on the poster to be positioned on the top corner of my website as this is what will be seen first. I want people to see the logo and link it automatically with my film, acting sort of like a logo. I plan for my website to have a black background but this could change as I starting actually developing it. The release date of my film will be underneath the page title and will be in a slightly smaller font. I want to  add in the top image from my poster also on the other side of the website.

I got ideas for my website  by looking at other websites which I am inspired by :

When you open you open my webpage I plan to have a clip or my trailer from the film which will be playing automatically.
